How AEF gives support
How will the AEF decide whether to help me?
If you need help, click the link above to apply for help.
Then the town's social worker will review your application. Often they will look at your finances and may help creating a household budget.
If the social worker determines there is an eligible need, then they request support from the Ashland Emergency Fund.
At least 2 out of 3 members of the AEF Screening Committee need to approve the application. If any member feels the need to, the matter can be brought before the full AEF board to decide. If this happens, your personal information will not be shared with the full board.
How would the AEF help me with expenses?
The AEF would pay an expense directly, on your behalf.
For example, when the AEF helps a person with rent, the AEF pays the landlord. When the AEF helps a person with a heating bill, the AEF pays the utility company.
