Walk-a-Thon Information:
How do I get involved?
Our annual walkathon is a fun and fit activity for the entire family. It is a five mile walk through town. It starts at the pavilion at Stone Park and ends at The American Legion for bagels, juice & coffee. Last year we raised $14,000.00. Our goal this year is $20,000. The AEF is a local charity helping Ashland folks in need on a temporary basis. 100% of the funds raised are for helping others. The walkathon committee is made up of members of the community and The Federated Church of Ashland..
Step One
Get a group together or your family or just yourself and complete the registration form and mail or take it to The Homes Connection, 91 Main St. or The Federated Church, 118 Main St. Ashland, MA 01721 along with the registration fee. Make checks payable to “Walk-a-thon for AEF”.
Step Two
Start collecting contributions. Use the contributions form to keep track of your contributions. The contributions will be collected when you check-in prior to the walk. Tee shirts can be picked up at The Homes Connection starting October 1st or at the check-in on Oct. 5. Tee Shirts are for registered walkers only.
Step Three
Check-in will start at 8:00 a.m. at the pavilion at Stone Park. You may start walking immediately after. Please bring your money and contribution sheet to the check-in. Any outstanding pledges can be turned in at The Homes Connection, 91 Main St. after the walkathon. Tee Shirts will also be given out at this time. You will receive a map and water bottles. Complimentary bagels, juice & coffee will be served at the finish.
Remember…..
No running or jogging will be allowed. Walkers are encouraged to wear hats and sunscreen if it’s sunny or bring rain gear if it’s rainy.
This event doesn’t have a rain date. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your registration fee will be used as a donation to the Ashland Emergency Fund.
We look forward to all walkers having a great time!
