WHERE TO GIVE

From Metrowest Daily News September 7, 2005 - Ashland residents are helping to find housing and other necessities in the Metro-West area for families who have fled from Hurricane Katrina's devastation. Here are ways to contribute to their efforts:

Money Donations

Make checks payable to The Ashland Emergency Fund and mail to PO Box 112, Ashland, MA 01721 or drop off donations at The Homes Connection, 91 Main Street, Ashland, MA 01721. (Map) For credit card donations use the Network for Good and specify "Katrina" or "Food Pantry" or "AEF" in the Designation section.

Furniture Donations

To donate Furniture and Home Furnishings call Joanne Duffy at 508-881-0140, Ashland Elder Services Director. She is maintaining a list of what's available and how to connect the goods with those in need.

Clothing Donations

Clothing donations are now being handled by South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC). Call them at 508-872-4853.

Food Donations

There is an on-going necessity for food donations! There are those we care for regularly plus those in emergencies like this.

Food brought to the Ashland Food Pantry at 162 West Union street (Rte. 135), Ashland, MA 01721 will be used either for local people or for evacuees in our midst. If you want to donate toward food for the folks still in Louisiana or Mississippi, click the Donate button and specify how you want your money used.

Housing Donations

Offers of housing can be directed to Nadine Heaps at 508-881-6680.

Car Donations

Sally Eldrige is coordinating donated cars. Call her at 508-429-2338.
